OneClick Media Manager for Windows - Listen on Computer Option

Getting Started
To use OneClickdigital, you must (a) register for an account, (b) install the Media Manager software, (c) set your preferences. 

A. Register for an account 

  1. Go to Library eCard Login above (or and sign in with your Kansas Library eCard.
  2. Choose the OneClickdigital Audiobooks Registration registration link from the Digital Book eLending section.
  3. This opens OneClickdigital, and has communicated that you are allowed to make an account.  If not on the registration form, click "Register" in the upper right..  Fill out the form, some notes: 
    • Username: pick something easy to type and remember, do not use spaces.
    • Password: minimum of 7 characters, use letters and numbers.
    • Zip code: please provide a 5-digit zip for statistical purposes.
  4. Click the Registration button once, and wait until your name appears in the upper right side of the website (or, person icon if you are on a small screen).
B. Install the Media Manager software: 
  1. Click here to download the software, then follow all prompts from your computer to run and install it.  
  2. When the software opens, enter the username & password you created during registration. 
    • you may choose to have the software save your login information & auto-login for future use.  
    • the software should associate you with the State Library of Kansas.  For many people this will be automatic.  If a drop-down appears asking you to select a library location, pick State Library of Kansas.   
    • upon login, the software's checked out books area will be blank unless you have already checked out a book.
C. Set Preferences in the Media Manager: 
Click Preferences in the upper left corner to access this screen.  
  • Automatically download can be set however you wish. We prefer No, as files only download when we ask them to.
  • Allow iTunes/Apple Device Detection - No
  • Use MP3 format instead... - does not matter (you are not transferring to MP3), but No is best.
Check Out a Book

  1. In Media Manager, click the Browse for a title online! bar (black, upper right).  This will open the OneClick website, where all checkouts are holds are placed.  You will be logged in automatically.  
  2. Search or browse for a book. Our favorite way: 
    • Go to Browse
    • Click on either "All eAudio Titles" or "Genre" (and pick a subject) to start.
    • When the search pulls up, click on "Refine Search" (white bar at left).  
    • In the refine bar, find "Availability" and check "Available."  The search will refresh.
    • Every book with available copies will show.  You can start looking through books now, or set more options like:
      • choose a genre (like mystery, romance) in the "Refine" box, if you did not start your search this way.
      • click on "Sort by" and switch that to Date Added.  This puts the newest purchased books in your search first.
      • click on the "list view" button (small button with lines at upper right of book covers).  This puts part of the summary next to the book cover, so you can see what they are about without clicking into each book.
  3. When you have found a book, click the cover.  The book's details are shown.  
  4. Use the Checkout Now button (if all copies are in use, the button is Hold).  If your browser asks to download a file, click cancel.   
  5. Return to the Media Manager software.  If your new checkout does not show yet, click the Refresh button.
Listen to a Book
  • click the Play button for the book.  The book will begin downloading to the computer, and start playing after a couple of chapters are downloaded.  The rest of the book will download as you listen.
  • pause, skip, or stop the book using the playback controls above the checked out list.  The software will save your place in the book automatically.

What Else?

  • Early Return and Renew - there are controls buttons for each checked out book in Media Manager.  If another person is waiting on a book, you will not be able to renew it (button will not be clickable). 
  • Holds - on the website, click into My Titles (from either Browse or by clicking your name on the right).  You can view your current holds, see what place you are in line (and how many copies the library owns) and remove any you no longer want.  When it is your turn for a hold it is checked out to you automatically and the system will email you. 
  • Need to update your account? When logged in, choose My Account (also under Browse or your name). You can update your email, change your password, and now even choose a different username.
