Check Out a Book
Devices not on the compatibility list can still use one format of audiobook (Not Protected).  Any time you are doing a search or browse, you will need to click "Not Protected" in the Search Selection column to be sure you are getting the proper format of book for your device.

  1. In Media Manager, click the Browse Website link.  This will open the OneClick website, where all checkouts are holds are placed.
  2. Search or browse for a book. Our favorite way:
    • Go to Advanced Search
    • Scroll down to the final boxes on the right.  Set these two and search:
      • Digital Rights -- Not Protected
      • Available for Checkout -- Available
    • Every book with available copies will show.  From here, use the Search Selection column at right to narrow the search to a genre (like mystery) and/or the Sort By box at the top of the results (Release Date will put the newest first).
  3. When you have found a book, click the cover.  The book's details are shown.
  4. Use the Checkout Now button (if all copies are in use, the button is Hold).  If your browser asks to download a file, click cancel.
  5. Return to the Media Manager software.  If your new checkout does not show yet, click the Refresh button.
Use a Book
  • Listen on the computer
    • click the Play button for the book.  The book will begin downloading to the computer, and start playing after a couple of chapters are downloaded.

  • Transfer to a device:
    • connect your device to the computer.
    • click the Download/Transfer button for the book.
    • wait until you receive a message that the download is complete before disconnecting your device.

What Else?

  • Early Return and Renew - there are controls buttons for each checked out book in Media Manager.  If another person is waiting on a book, you will not be able to renew it (button will not be clickable).
  • Holds - from the My Collections area of the website, tap the Holds tab.  You can view your current holds and remove any you no longer want.
  • In My Collections area of the website, the Download Now buttons are for manual download users only, please do not use these.  You should use the control buttons in the Media Manager software for your books.
