Manual Download Process

A manual download option is available if you cannot use the Media Manager to download and transfer an audiobook to your device.  Reasons you may need to use the manual download process:

  • your device is not compatible with Media Manager.  Only Apple devices are compatible with the Mac Media Manager, but the list of compatible devices with Windows Media Manager will grow over time and is found on this OneClickdigital page.
  • your Mac's operating system is older than OS 10.6.6, and you are unable to upgrade.
  • your Windows computer is older than Windows XP with Service Pack 3. 

News for Manual Download Users:

  • OneClickdigital has been adding many devices to the compatibility list recently (Sept. 2012).  They are half-way done with compatibility on many devices, so you can use the Media Manager if you watch what format of book you check out.  If you have a Windows Vista or Windows 7 computer, please see the Compatible Devices Information on the Windows instructions page.  
  • Mobile apps are now available for Android and Apple devices.  If your device is compatible, you no longer need to do the manual download process.  The mobile app will download the book directly to the device and manage its playback.

Necessary Settings

Please make sure you have set your online account properly for the manual download process!

  1. Go to http://statelibraryofks.oneclickdigital.com and log in.
  2. Click "My Account."
  3. Select the "Preferences" tab.
  4. Under "Generic Preferences" select your device type. 
  5. Scroll down to "OneClickdigital Media Manager Preferences."
  6. The first setting, "Use...as my default player" should be "No."
  7. Click "Update Preferences" to save.

  • Windows Instructions -- updated 6/26/12 -- now shows how to download & use protected format files.  
  • Linux -- If you have a Windows emulator and can use Windows Media Player, you may be able to use both formats of books as shown in the Windows instructions.  If you do not, you will need to stick to the Not Protected (MP3) format books, as shown in the instructions for either Mac or Windows OS.

Creating Playlists

Depending on the device you are using, you might find it easier to listen to the book files if they have been turned into a playlist, then synced to your device.  Follow the links below:
