State Library of Kansas  :  150 Kansas

150 Kansas

Kansas 150The State Library has big plans for participating in the state’s 150th Birthday in 2011. The first projects kick off in January 2010.

The library’s website will feature a blog http://kansas150slk.blogspot.com/ which will be a two year journey through Kansas history, culture, society and natural wonders. We plan to look at the people, events and places that have made Kansas the state it is today.

In keeping with our books focus, the State Library plans to compile a list of 150 books that Kansans love. Readers, writers, librarians, anyone can recommend a book for this unique book list. The announcement will occur on Kansas Day, 2010, with submissions being accepted until October. The list will be announced in January 2011.
