Kansas Reads to Preschoolers

2016 Book: Bear Sees Colors by Karma Wilson

Celebrate the importance of reading in the lives of young Kansans throughout the month of November.  The Title Selection Committee encourages libraries to keep track of the number of children who hear the book during the entire month.
Majority of events to be conducted the week of November 13-19, 2016, but libraries may have events throughout the month.

  • Order forms are at right for ordering copies to give away during your events. One is specifically for libraries that are a part of the Scholastic FACE program. Final day to order without incurring "rush delivery" charges is Nov. 4.
  • The State Library of Kansas has purchased one hardback copy of the book for every library location (including branches for larger libraries).  These were sent out by courier or mail and all libraries should have their copy now.
