Check Out a Book
Only audiobooks without added security can be transferred to MP3 players.  Any time you are doing a search or browse, you will need to choose  "Non Protected" for Digital Rights in the "refine search" box to be sure you are getting the proper format of book for your device.

  1. In Media Manager, click the Browse for a title online! bar (black, upper right).  This will open the OneClick website, where all checkouts are holds are placed.  You will be logged in automatically.
  2. Search or browse for a book. Our favorite way for the type of book needed:
    • Under Browse, go to Advanced Search
    • Switch at least these first two items and search:
      • All Digital Rights -- Non Protected
      • All Availability -- Available
      • All Genre - pick a subject if you wish.
    • Every book with available copies will show.  From here, you can:
      • Click on "Sort by" and switch that to "Date Added."
      • Click on the "list view" button (small lined button next at the upper right of the book covers).  This puts part of the book summary next to the book cover, so you can see what they are about without clicking into each book.
  3. When you have found a book, click the cover.  The book's details are shown.
  4. Use the Checkout Now button (if all copies are in use, the button is Hold).  If your browser asks to download a file, click cancel.
  5. Return to the Media Manager software.  If your new checkout does not show yet, click the Refresh button.
Transfer Book to MP3 Player
  1. Connect your device to the computer.
  2. Click the Download/Transfer button for the book.  If a "Device Picker" screen appears, choose your MP3 player.
  3. Wait until you receive a message that the download is complete before disconnecting your device.

If you receive an error message that the book is Protected format and cannot be transferred, this book may be listened to with the "Play" button on your computer or on a device that can use the OneClickdigital mobile app (smartphones, tablets).

What Else?

  • Early Return and Renew - there are controls buttons for each checked out book in Media Manager.  If another person is waiting on a book, you will not be able to renew it (button will not be clickable).
  • Holds - on the website, go into My Titles (under Browse or by clicking your name on the upper right).  You can view your current holds, see what place you are in line, and remove any you no longer want.  When it is your turn for a hold, it checks out to you automatically and the system sends you an email.
  • Need to update your account? When logged in, choose My Account (also under Browse or your name). You can update your email, change your password, and now even choose a different username.
