THE BIRDS OF CHEYENNE BOTTOMS
March 3rd is World Wildlife Day and February 2nd was World Wetlands Day. In honor of the days the State Library of Kansas' KGI Online Library is offering up a wonderful publication for your viewing this week. Written by Robert L. Penner III, the book, "The Birds of Cheyenne Bottoms," was published in 2009 by the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks with assistance from the Kansas Wetlands Education Center and the Nature Conservancy. It includes information and great graphics of birds who frequent the region, a map and information on Cheyenne Bottoms.

THE BIRDS OF CHEYENNE BOTTOMS
For those unfamiliar with Cheyenne Bottoms it is a wetland in the central Great Plains of North America. Occupying approximately 41,000 acres in central Kansas, it lies northeast of the city of Great Bend.
