3M Cloud Library: maintenance window 7/26/16

Posted on July 22, 2016 at 12:01 PM by Lianne Flax

3M Cloud Library will be offline Tuesday, July 26 starting at 7pm Central.  Maintenance will be complete by Wednesday, July 27, 7am at latest.

How does this affect normal use of 3M Cloud Library?
  • no new checkouts, holds, downloads (or new user logins to the system) will be possible after maintenance begins.
  • current checkouts will not be affected.  If you would like to read your books on Tuesday evening, please ensure they have been downloaded to your device or computer prior to 7pm (opening each book once makes it certain you have the book file).

Necessary app & software updates after July 26: this maintenance is to move all data to new servers!  In the days after the maintenance window, please update your apps/software

  • Android & iOS (iPad/iPhone) - your device will notify you to update your app.  Please do so when prompted.  Note: some users may have their devices set to update apps automatically and will only see a message that the update is complete.
  • Windows or Mac computers - when you open the Cloud Library software, it should notify you that an update is available or downloading.  Generally, you will only need to close & reopen your software to finalize, but follow any directions your software gives.
  • Kindle Fires - as this app is not from your Amazon app store, you will need to:
    • Delete the old version of the app (on device, go into Settings->Applications->3M Cloud Library to find the uninstall or delete button).
    • Download & install the latest copy of the app from the Kindle Fire Installation page.  Since you've previously updated your device's settings, you should be able to skip down to the red "download" button.

If the new version of the app didn't save your login, remember:

  • Library = State Library of Kansas
  • Library ID = your Kansas Library eCard number. (If you've misplaced your card, contact your local library or fill out this form).
  • Password/PIN = your birthdate in MMDDYYYY format.  No slashes!
