This title was selected in honor of Star Trek’s 50th anniversary
(September 8). I’ve had an entire life loving science fiction because
of Star Trek!
A ship was launched from Saturn in 2545. Seven generations have passed, and now the ship is approaching the Tau Ceti system where they are to settle a moon named Aurora.
The book spans decades, following the chief engineer, the Ship’s AI, and the engineer’s daughter Freya. There are a variety of social (reproduction is strictly controlled) and technological issues on a trip so long. And after that first generation, no one on the ship that actually chose to be there.
Looking for ebooks instead of audio? We have special shelves highlighting sci-fi up on 3M Cloud Library and Enki. Total Boox and Freading are both great places to look not only for materials from smaller publishers but for classic science fiction.
