COME ONE! COME ALL... TO THE KANSAS BOOK FESTIVAL!
This coming Saturday, September 10th, is the Kansas Book Festival here in Topeka. People will gather on the Capitol grounds and in the Capitol to promote and peruse Kansas literature. Events will begin at 9am and continue through the afternoon. More information can be found on the Book Festival's website:
The State Library will have a booth at the Festival and we invite you to stop by and visit with us about the services the library offers to the people of Kansas. Among the handouts will be a sheet on the Kansas Government Information (KGI) Library. If you can make it we hope to see you there.
We promote Kansas government publications on this blog. We consider it important for the public to be informed of the workings of state government past and present and hope that something within our collection will shed light on personal, school or professional research for many of you.
The Kansas Book Festival promotes literary works of a different sort from government documents but still offers views and information by Kansans or about Kansas... fiction and nonfiction... that are important in gaining an understanding of the Sunflower State and its people.
For those who can't attend, please take a look at the website and find authors and books that might interest you. Bookstores and libraries will be happy to help you locate copies to read!
And... shameless promotion time... here is a digital copy of the handout on the KGI Online Library we'll be handing out at the Kansas Book Festival!
