Every November, we celebrate the importance of reading to children with Kansas Reads to Preschoolers.
This year’s book is Bear Sees Colors by Karma Wilson.
Most libraries are having their
events in the next week, contact your local library to ask about a
special storytime and other activities on this program. |
Online Materials for Kids?
Have you ever visited our Research for Kids page? Suitable for PreK-elementary ages, you’ll find:
- Encyclopedia Britannica - it isn’t just for articles anymore. Browse animals, learn a new word, or click into the “Britannica Learning Zone” section for educational games and coloring.
- Video storybooks with the TumbleBooks and BookFlix links. Tumblebooks also has some short National Geographic videos to go along with the topics of storybooks on their site. BookFlix always pairs a story with a non-fiction ebook.
- Britannica E-STAX nonficton ebooks - while there are books available for middle and high school students here, it is pretty easy to tell which are for younger learners by the covers. Topics include math, history, and science. All books work directly in your internet browser, you do not have to download anything to enjoy the book.
