Narrative style nonfiction, 1920s. When oil was discovered under the Osage Nation's land in Oklahoma, members of the tribe became rich - and targets. Tribe members were shot, poisoned, or died under mysterious circumstances. Those investigating the murderers were also killed. The death toll was already twenty-four by the time the FBI became involved, and with the Osage Nation, uncovered one of the most chilling conspiracies in American history.
