You may be placed on a hold list for several weeks if our only copy is checked out. From time to time, we like to draw attention to our growing list of archived webinar recordings. Maybe you missed one you had your heart set on joining, thought "I'll just catch the recording later!" - and then it got away from you.

This time, we're looking at an overview of our offerings from Gale Cengage Learning, presented by trainer Emily Mageski on January 12 to kick of our annual series of vendor webinars.

Genealogy Connect includes the "how-to" of genealogy research in addition to the idiosyncrasies of genealogical research in specific subject areas. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced researcher looking for in-depth genealogy data this is a good place to start or extend your research.

Gale Virtual Reference Library (GVRL) is a database of encyclopedias and specialized reference sources for multidisciplinary research.

Health Reference eBooks is a state-library generated subset collection of GVRL titles on health topics.

Information Science and Library Issues Collection gives librarians access to scholarly journals and trade publications essential for information professionals and other knowledge workers. Coverage of topics including information infrastructure, metadata architecture, publishing, and more.

The crown jewel of the Gale collection undoubtedly is Kansas History, Territorial through Civil War Years, 1854-1865.

Custom made for Kansas with input from noted historians, this unique resource provides a core of primary source documents for the study of Kansas history, with an engaging user interface for students and researchers. The collection provides a range of primary documents, including state and regional histories, biographies, speeches and more.

With a good balance of "what's in here" and "how do I find and use it" instruction, along with handy tools and tips easily overlooked, you may find this session well worth 50 minutes of your time.
