Watch Parties in Kansas for the 2017 Solar Eclispe

Posted on August 17, 2017 at 9:59 AM by Sarah Tenfelde-Dubois

As I am sure everyone knows by now, the 2017 total solar eclipse will take place on August 21.  The extreme northeastern part of Kansas is in the totality path, and some towns have events planned for people to gather and watch.

Atchison
Marysville
Hiawatha
Horton

Libraries and universities across the state have events planned as well for patrons, even if they are in towns that will be seeing the partial eclipse only.  Check out the places below for any watch party events.

Richmond Public Library
Lawrence Public Library
Manhattan Public Library
Johnson County Public Library
Topeka & Shawnee County Public Library
Hays Public Library
Wichita State University, Ablah Library
University of Kansas, Shenk Sports Complex
Kansas State University
Washburn University

Neither of these are in any way a comprehensive list, so make sure to visit with your local town and library to see if there are events planned.

Let’s hope for clear skies, and happy viewing!
