OK... an article about poultry from 1911/1912 may sound like a snoozer... but... really... Check it out at the State Library of Kansas' KGI Online Library.
I scrolled through it amazed at the beautiful graphics of chickens and a very cool drawing of a goose.
But wait! There's more! This 150 page article is chock full of information on raising chickens, geese, ducks, guineafowl and turkeys. Keep in mind that the information within this publication is dated... published in the 1911/12 Biennial Report of the Kansas State Board of Agriculture. But it's still an interesting look at poultry culture over 100 years ago.
Bok! Bok! Don't be chicken... Take a peak!
