Job Duties: Outreach to promote Talking Books and readers’ advisory

Years with Talking Books: 3

Hometown: Topeka

Favorite Series? Mercy Thompson series by Patricia Briggs or Guild Hunter series by Nalini Singh

Have you ever faked reading a book? Yes, a couple times during high school (but let’s keep quiet about that)

Best library memory: Walking into the library and the smell of books that has become one of my favorite scents. Also, as a child, standing in the children’s section and learning I could read as many of the books I wanted.

First book you remember being read to you? The first book I remember being read to me is The Cat that Climbed the Christmas Tree by Susanne Sanforo Whayne.

If you could have any famous person narrates any books, who would it be, which book & why? Sean Connery or Pierce Brosnan could read anything. I love the sound of their voices that seem so smooth and rich.

What do you find most rewarding about working at Talking Books? It’s really rewarding to help people reconnect with reading when some thought they had lost it. I also really enjoy helping patrons find new books and authors to read.

Farthest you’ve ever been from Kansas? Rochester, New York
