February is African American History Month and the State Library of Kansas is getting a head start on providing resources for teachers, students and others interested in researching the African American experience in Kansas. Here you'll find a small collection of digitized publications in the KGI Online Library on African Ameircans covering a wide spectrum of subject areas and time periods. Many of these publications are concerned with educational institutions formerly operated at least in part by the state, the Kansas Vocational School and the State Industrial Department at Western University. Also in the KGI Online Library are publications by the Kansas African American Affairs Commission.
