Sunday, March 31, is World Backup Day
, a day designated to raise awareness of the importance of backing up your personal and business electronic data. While many of us increasingly rely on computers, phones, and other electronic devices to store our most important information, documents, and memories, hardware and the resultant data loss is not an irregular occurrence. By simply creating and sticking to a plan to duplicate your data in a separate storage location (either on a different hard drive or using a cloud service), you can ensure that hardware failure won't result in catastrophe for you or your business.
One of our databases in particular, EBSCO's Computer Source, contains quite a few helpful articles on this topic. The search strategy I used was to enter data backup (strateg*
OR plan*) in the search box, then narrow the results to Full Text and limit the results to those articles published in the past twelve years. You can access my search results by clicking this link.
