National Poetry Month - Poetry Wanted

Posted on April 1, 2019 at 4:11 PM by Maggie Witte

April is National Poetry Month! We would love to have any of our patrons submit their own original poems to be published in our summer newsletter. Be creative and write about anything you like.

Guidelines for entry:
1. Must be written by a Kansas Talking Books patron.
2. Must be at least 4 lines long, unless in the form of haiku.
3. Must be original work by the participant.
4. Must not contain violence, strong language, or sexual content.

Submission deadline is April 30th. Poems can be submitted by email to KTB@ks.gov, or should be typed or hand-written (print) and mailed to:

State Library of Kansas, Talking Books
1 Kellogg Circle, Box 4055
Emporia, KS 66801

Patrons that have poems selected to publish in the newsletter will be notified by Wednesday, May 8th.

We look forward to reading the works of our patrons, so be creative and, most importantly, have fun!

Disclaimer: Submission of original poems by State Library of Kansas, Talking Book patrons certifies that the poem is the patron's own original work and gives the State Library of Kansas, Talking Books the right to publish that poem in our newsletter.
