OneClick - Website Upgrade Feb. 10

Posted on February 4, 2015 at 10:10 AM by Lianne Flax

OneClickdigital has been working on a new version of their website.   They will begin putting up the new site on Tuesday, February 10, at 10pm central time.  The maintenance window is expected to last 3-4 hours.

Who does this impact?
If you use OneClickdigital on your computer, the website is how you check out books & place holds.

People with the OneClick software on smartphones/tablets normally use the "search" feature in the app, so may not notice these changes at all.

What do I need to do?
Nothing - though if you are a late-night audiobook listener, be sure to have checkouts & downloads done before 10pm.

What will change?
State Library staff had the opportunity to preview the new site.  The overall look of the site is different, but all of the same functions remain.  Here's a few notes:

  • Added: "list view" of search results option.  This puts part of the summary next to the cover art of the book, so you do not have to click into the book.  Currently, the results are just a grid of cover art & titles.
  • Moved: filters after search (availability, genre, etc). Instead of a "search selection" column on the right side of your search or browse results, there will be a "filter" area to the LEFT now.  The same options will be available for narrowing down your search.
  • Improved: design for smaller screens.  The website will now resize & reorganize itself appropriately for the size of your screen. The current site does not do this, so it is difficult to use on devices like tablets or even on small laptop computers.

We will put up a new post on February 11 describing the changes in more detail.  If you have any questions, please let us know: audiobooks@library.ks.gov.
