The original item was published from June 20, 2019 5:38 AM to June 20, 2019 5:41 AM

"You and Your Interstate Highways" is a part informational, part promotional booklet on the developing national highway system being constructed across the United States.  Published by the State Highway Commission of Kansas in the early 1960s, this 12 page publication touts the 800 miles of interstate highways spreading across much of the Sunflower State connecting people and products in a manner unseen before.

The welcoming statements at the beginning of the booklet says it all:

"These routes will be of great improvement to the state's over-all highway system and will provide connections with major cities and industrial centers throughout the continental United States. We welcome you to share in their excellent benefits. In a  state of such great distances and importance, the three Interstate routes crossing Kansas will be a boon in faster, safer, more comfortable travel."
