[ARCHIVED] Kansas Reads to Preschoolers Month is Here!

The original item was published from November 1, 2019 4:42 PM to November 4, 2019 11:08 AM

Kansas Reads to Preschoolers is an annual event that promotes reading to all Kansas children from birth through age five. Through the statewide program, parents, librarians and caregivers are encouraged to read the chosen title during November.

The selected title for this year is I Like Myself! by Karen Beaumont. I Like Myself! will be the subject of storytimes and other special activities through the month.  Visit the State Library's KRPS page, and click on the pink Librarian Resources button, for related promotional materials, a press release, and library ideas.

Here are several ways to let the library community know about what your library is doing!
  • If your library or learning center has an event coming up, please add your library event to the Google Map located on the Activities and Promotions webpage. For instructions on how to do so, click on the link located above the map.
  • Kansas Reads to Preschoolers now has Facebook Group for all to join to hear and share about activities and promotions.
  • Be sure to take pictures of the event.  Your pictures can then be uploaded either to the KRPS Facebook page mentioned above, or on the website.  The link to add the pictures of your event is also on the State Library’s KRPS Activities and Promotions webpage.
Let’s celebrate the importance of reading in the lives of young Kansans!
