[ARCHIVED] Music Instruction in Kansas State Government Publications

The original item was published from November 21, 2019 3:06 PM to November 21, 2019 3:41 PM

Music instruction has been an important part of a public school education in Kansas for many years. My Mom taught music in the public schools of Lucas, Kansas in the 1940s and I can remember a scrapbook she kept with fliers and programs as well as books, photos and other remembrances of her days as a music teacher. So, in honor of my mother (who would have been 99 years old today!) and all those intrepid souls who walk into a classroom to enrich the lives of students with a knowledge and appreciation of music I scoured the virtual shelves of the KGI Online Library and found three state publications having to do with music. You can view them amidst the ivy covered walls of the State Library of Kansas' KGI Online Library while listening to whatever music you enjoy relaxing to.
