Across Kansas, libraries are being asked – even expected – to take a proactive role in the fast-approaching 2020 Census. That’s because libraries are uniquely positioned to help ensure communities are accurately counted in the high-stakes decennial count.
Library personnel are considered trusted voices in their respective communities and library resources are being called upon to enable “hard-to-count” residents access to computers and thus provide the ability to complete the online census questionnaire.
Steve Hale, Sr. Partnership Specialist for the 2020 Census, will provide an overview of where library personnel can turn to get critical information about the census, what questions they might expect from patrons and how libraries can positively influence a population count that will directly impact representation and funding for the coming decade and beyond.
This training will be recorded for later viewing.
