What volunteer work do you do for Kansas Talking Books?
Monitor for audio recordings

How long have you been volunteering with Kansas Talking Books?
Three years.

What do you do when you are not volunteering (work, hobbies, etc.)?
Work, work, and work – I am a PhD student in Emporia State’s Library and Information Management program and a research assistant. I also enjoy long walks and listening to a wide variety of music.

What is your favorite book, author, or series?
Back in the days when I had time to read, I liked Stephen King and H. G. Wells.

What’s your best library memory?
Presenting to hundreds of librarians and library students at the Annual American Library Association Conference. Is that a fair answer?

What’s the first book you remember being read to you?
The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein

What do you like best about being a volunteer for Kansas Talking Books?
I feel that my contribution is genuinely helping others gain access to information about their world and what matters to them.
