State Library of Kansas Cataloging/Kansas Documents employee, Vicky Wolf, has been busy for many weeks gathering, documenting, preserving and providing access to over 170 publications issued by Kansas libraries and state government agencies regarding COVID-19 prevention, detection, policies and procedures. We have these publications up in the KGI Online Library and will be adding more.
VERY IMPORTANT... This collection is historical in nature. It is not to be used for current information. Vicky is adding the phrase, "(Dated material)," after each title in this collection and referring viewers to issuing agency websites for more uptodate information. Some of these publications have already been updated by the issuing agency/library. Go there for current information.
The State Library is collecting this material and providing it as a research collection down the road for those who will want to know how Kansas government responded to the pandemic... i.e. what steps were taken. We also see this collection as a possible resource for those who might have to deal with another emergency such as this in the future.
You can skim through the 170 document titles in KGI Online Library or you can do an advanced search to look at a particular agency's publications or title.
A heads up... The subject term we use for the virus in KGI is: COVID-19.
KANSAS LIBRARY PLANS/PROCEDURES
We have a small collection of Kansas library plans and procedures shared with us by libraries around the state. The collection is not complete. We still have a few more plans/procedures to add. You can view what we have so far here... Again... This is not current material.
If you have material issued by your Kansas library (public, system, academic, school, special, etc on COVID-19 publications for staff and the public you'd be willing to add to our KGI Online Library collection please contact BIll Sowers at the State Library of Kansas (ksdocs@ks.gov. We use PDFs for KGI but will take other formats that can be changed to PDF).
