In Your Corner Kansas Through the Attorney General's Office

Posted on October 9, 2020 at 9:28 AM by Sarah Tenfelde-Dubois

There is a lot happening in the world right now, and identity theft and other types of fraud should not be an added stressor for your daily life. Did you know that the Kansas Attorney General, Derek Schmidt, has a division for Consumer Protection?

This division, In Your Corner Kansas, helps to protect Kansas residents from deceptive practices with consumer protection specialists. They investigate scams, telemarketing fraud, identity theft, and other types of fraud.

The Consumer Protection website is broken up into different types of consumer issues, like Identity, Money, Home and Car, etc. There is a lot of information for each type of issue, with downloadable PDFs and links to other helpful resources.

Kansans can also file a complaint, sign up for the Do-Not-Call list, and check out a roofer’s registration, all through the Action Center.

If you feel you have a concern or issue that needs to be researched or investigated, be sure to visit the Consumer Protection division of the Kansas AG’s office.
