OneClickdigital has notified us that Microsoft will no longer support the additional security for DRM protected audiobooks. This means that one format of audiobooks (Protected) in our OneClickdigital collection cannot be used on MP3 players that were previously compatible with both formats of audiobook.
Affects Windows computer users that:
Update 7/17 - iPods now working with both formats again.
This issue does not affect people using the mobile apps, or only listen to audiobooks on their computer.
What will I see?
When you next open your OneClickdigital Media Manager software, it will have a required update. This update just adds messages - one that will pop up the first time you login to notify you of the new format problem, and one that will pop up if you try to transfer a Protected format book to an MP3 player.
What should I do?
Books that cannot transfer to your MP3 player can be listened to on your computer or on a device with the mobile app (smartphone, tablet). If you really only like to listen with your MP3 player (we understand, it is our preference too!) you will need to learn to checkout only one format of book now. We'll be talking to OneClickdigital about this issue.
Finding compatible books:
Basically, you need a book that is marked Non-Protected. These do not have extra security added by the publisher, so don't have this problem. Easiest way to get a book now:
