iPods will again transfer both formats of audiobook from the OneClickdigital Media Manager for Windows. Since the OneClick software uses iTunes to send the audiobooks to iPods, and this was set up to work differently than transfer to other brands from the early on (no involvement with Windows Media Player), OneClick was able to get it working.
If you are unable to transfer Protected format audiobooks to an iPod from a Windows computer, or it is only working sporadically, please do a clean reinstall of the software as described here. You might have missed one of the patches.
Other brands of MP3 player are still affected, and only able to accept transfer of NonProtected books.
