In April, 1916, The Ladies' Home Journal asked the question, "How Many of the Four Million Will Vote?" The article stated, “Four million women will have the privilege to vote for a President of the United States this year… These four million women represent twelve states, which cast ninety-one ballots in the electoral college which elects the President." President Wilson carried the state of Kansas with the help of Kansas women voters. Women in the western suffrage states chose Wilson. Wilson carried those states. In 1916, women chose the President of the United States.
