Highlight: Past Elections & History Reference Center

Posted to Statewide Online Services News on November 4, 2016 at 1:59 PM by Jeff Hixon

With Election Day just two weeks away, we’d like to point out a great series in the EBSCO History Reference Center database.  In this database, you'll find journal articles, reference ebooks, and primary source documents on historical topics (of course!).

Flash Focus: Presidential Elections 1788-2000. Each article overviews the candidates, big issues of the time, the campaign, and election outcomes (including voter turnout on modern elections).

History Reference Center has a search component, but we really enjoy the homepage Browse feature. This is a great way to pick a topic for a research paper or just to quickly learn about an era. Choose a section (U.S. or World) then a time period to view a list important events, issues, and people during that time. Each item on the list will take you to a package of materials on the topic. U.S. History sections will commonly contain materials for presidents, if you’d rather browse towards presidential information.
