LSTA Feedback Survey

Posted to Librarian News on December 13, 2016 at 12:08 PM by Lianne Flax

The State Library of Kansas annually receives a federal grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services, which funds statewide projects. This grant is commonly referred to as LSTA (Library Services and Technology Act).

The Library Service and Technology Act requires each State Library submit a plan that details library services goals for a five-year period. The State Library must also conduct a five-year evaluation of library services based on that plan. These plans and evaluations are the foundation for improving practice and informing policy.

Six focus groups were held around the state. For those unable to attend, there is now an online survey which you can take in order to share your feedback regarding LSTA.

Take the LSTA Feedback Survey here.

For the five-year Evaluation, the State Library of Kansas has contracted with the Docking Institute of Public Affairs located at Fort Hays State University. Part of the evaluation will include six focus groups to be held around the state. No State Library staff and no Regional System staff will attend any of the focus groups so that attendees can comfortably share their opinions and thoughts.

Each focus group will have a maximum of 15 attendees and a boxed lunch will be provided to each attendee. These events are on a first-come first-serve basis and you may attend a focus group at any location.

To RSVP please email Lynette Ottley lrottley@fhsu.edu

If you are unable to attend a focus group, you may participate in the evaluation by completing an online survey which will be distributed statewide in the coming weeks.
