Responding Online to the 2020 Census: What Libraries Need to Know

Thursday, January 30, 2020

This webinar will orient library staff to the 2020 Census questionnaire, the online response system, other options for responding, common questions, and tips for libraries. Presenters will include representatives from libraries, ALA, and the U.S. Census Bureau. Libraries will play vital roles in achieving an accurate and complete count in the 2020 Census. In 2020, for the first time, U.S. households will have the option to respond to the Census online, by phone, or by mail. The U.S. Census Bureau will mail households invitations to respond to the Census starting on March 12. Some members of the public might come to libraries to access the online Census questionnaire. The webinar will be offered at no cost to attendees and is presented by ALA’s Public Policy & Advocacy office. Registration is required, both to attend the webinar live at the scheduled time and to receive a link to the recording.
