Indirect Collection – Social Networking

Our website may link or direct you to use third-party social networking platforms such as Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, and Instagram for information or additional participation. This may include the use of social media plugins such as Facebook “like”, Tweet, Instagram “like” buttons, etc. When you use these social networking platforms and plugins, your username and password for the available information about you or collected from you on these services may be shared with us. Use of Live Chat

The State Library of Kansas includes a live chat feature so that Kansans can reach out to Libraians for assistance. When a staff member is not available to respond to your chat, your information may be shared via email within the agency.

You may be asked to provide information such as your first and last name, date of birth, or email address so that staff can assist with answering your requests. We will never ask for, nor should you ever provide, specific personal such as your full Social Security number or any kind of payment information. Chat message histories will be stored and secured consistent with industry standard practices.

How do we use your information?

Our main goal in collecting information is to improve the Sites and provide you with the best possible experience on the Sites.

We may also use your personal information to:
